Quick Add no longer loses an author you typed
If you typed a name into the contributor box and pressed Create Title without picking the name from the list, the title saved with no author at all — and the box carried on showing the name, so nothing told you it had gone. Any search box in Pubblish now clears text you did not choose, so what you see is what gets saved.

Things are called the same thing everywhere
A few names were doing double duty. "Publisher" meant both your whole workspace and a record in your sidebar — the workspace is now called your Workspace, and Publisher only ever means the record. The reusable plans behind a publishing flow are now Blueprints. The page listing your retailer links is Smart Links in the sidebar as well as at the top of the page. Quick Add's "Identifier" field is called ISBN, which is what it wanted all along.

You can see where you are
Pages inside a record — a book's edit form, a person's details — now show a trail at the top, so you can get back to the list you came from in one click instead of using the browser's Back button. Top-level pages do not show one, because the sidebar already tells you.

You can add files straight from the Assets page
The Assets page listed everything you had but gave you no way to add anything. You can now drop files onto it. They are filed by type and left unattached, and you can attach them to a book, person or series later from that record's Assets tab.

Signing up tells you what happened when something goes wrong
Several things could go wrong during signup and say nothing at all. A payment problem sent you to the homepage with no message. An ad blocker stopping the payment window left the page telling you to refresh, forever. Closing the payment window left you looking at a page that said checkout was still opening. If your workspace failed to build, nobody emailed you, and the few days you had to retry ran out in silence. All of those now say what happened and what to do next. The free trial and the price are also stated before you are asked for a card, in dollars, with a note that your own currency and any tax appear at checkout.

The import screen names your columns in English
When you import a spreadsheet, the "what is this column?" dropdown used to list raw database names like ai_text_extent_code and pen_name_1. It now uses the same words the rest of Pubblish does.

Deleting a keyword asks a readable question
The confirmation box in Settings for deleting a keyword or a tag was showing a line of raw code instead of the question. It now asks properly, with the name of the thing you are about to delete.

A new book tells you what to do next
The page you land on after adding your first title was blank apart from four zeroes. It now points at the three things people usually do next — add the author, add an edition, upload the cover — and gets out of the way once you have done any of them. The dashboard has also dropped two counters that could never show anything.

The blank import spreadsheet no longer flags its own examples
The template you download to import your catalogue ships with three example rows to show you the shape of a valid file. Every one of their ISBNs, and several of their codes, were invalid — so Pubblish's own preview reported errors on the file it had just given you. The examples are now real, valid values.

Confidential documents stay confidential
Someone with view-only access could see the NAMES of the private documents on a person's record — contracts, tax forms, banking. The files themselves were never reachable, but the names were, and a heading with nothing under it still hinted that something was there. Both are gone now.

Your site tells you when its hosting key has stopped working
If the Netlify key a site deploys with expired, or was switched off, deploying quietly stopped — and the page carried on saying "Connected". It now says what is wrong and offers Reconnect, so you can put a fresh key in without disconnecting the site first.

Photos show as photos again
Contributor photos were appearing as blank file icons instead of pictures, and a person's own photo never showed on their page at all — even though the form had been saving it the whole time.

Alt text, credits and older versions are back on the asset card
Turn a picture's card over to write its alt text (used on your published website) and a credit line, and to download any earlier version of a file you have replaced. The category list on the back now offers only the categories that suit what the file actually is.

Editing a flow updates the books already using it
Renaming a step in a publishing flow left the old name on every book already running it. Changes now reach them. Deleting a step keeps the work you have done — those tasks stay on your Actions list as your own.

Improved
You only see the buttons your role can actually use
If your workspace has more than one person, Pubblish now hides the controls a member's role does not allow. Someone with view-only access no longer sees Edit, Delete or "Erase personal data" on a book, person or publisher — before, the buttons were there, and clicking one bounced you to the dashboard with an error. Deleting an edition, or a distribution agreement, price or territory, now needs an administrator.

Convert Markdown and plain text manuscripts
You can now upload a Markdown or plain text manuscript as well as a Word document. That covers Obsidian, Typora, iA Writer, Ghostwriter and anything else that writes plain files — no need to open Word just to convert.

Chapters are found even when they are not Heading 1
If your manuscript used Heading 1 for the book title or for Parts, and Heading 2 for chapters, it converted as one long section with an empty contents page. Pubblish now works out which heading level your chapters are on, whichever one you used. Parts get their own page, with their chapters listed underneath them in the contents.

A conversion whose background job stopped could sit on "Converting your document…" for ever, with nothing to do but reload. It now says it stopped and lets you try again.

Download a Word template set up with every style Pubblish understands — headings, scene breaks, captions, epigraphs and more — each one explained, with a short sample chapter that shows it in use. Write your book in it and it converts cleanly, with nothing to map by hand.

Pictures now keep their captions
Put a caption in the paragraph directly beneath a picture and the two stay together as one figure in the finished book, so a page break can never fall between them.

Choose how your scene breaks look
Pick the marker that separates scenes in your book — asterisks, an ornament, a short rule, your own text, or a small image. Manuscripts are rarely consistent about this, so whatever yours uses, every break comes out the same in the finished file. Change your mind and rebuild; no need to touch the manuscript.

Add a page of praise for your book
If you have review quotes recorded on a title, you can now open the book with a "Praise for…" page. It is off unless you turn it on, and it uses the quotes you already have — there is nothing new to type.
